Privacy
Privacy policy for the Digital Relief extension
Applies to the Chrome extension Digital Relief: 20-20-20 Eye Break & Posture Reminder. Effective October 13, 2026.
The short version
Digital Relief has no account, no analytics, no ads and no server. It sells nothing and shares nothing.
What stays on your computer
Your settings are kept in the browser's extension sync storage. If you use Chrome sync, they travel with your own Google account, like any extension's settings.
Your break history and timer state stay in local storage on this computer.
Network requests
The extension makes no network requests except links you click: the Chrome Web Store, the App Store, and the sources it cites.
Permissions
Asked for at install. None of these shows a warning:
- alarms: Runs the break timer.
- storage: Keeps your settings and break history.
- idle: Pauses the timer when you're away or your screen is locked.
- offscreen: Plays the chime.
Optional, asked for only when you turn the feature on:
- notifications: Shows reminders as system notifications, if you choose that reminder style.
- Google Meet, Zoom and Teams: Call auto-pause, if you turn it on. It only checks whether a call tab is open and never reads page content.
Removing your data
Uninstalling the extension removes all of it.
